The Friends of Rocky Glen have been approved by Peoria County to officially adopt the stretch of Kickapoo Creek Road between Farmington Road and Airport Road. As many of our guests have discovered during our monthly hikes, we often finish the hikes with a brief pickup and removed trash bags full of trash and recyclables.
Participants should wear long pants and sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle. We will watch a short safety video, and then hand out safety vests, gloves and bags before heading down to start the pickup. We can have a maximum of 10 participants. Anyone interested in participating should contact us ahead of time at 309 369 5330 or rick@friendsofrockyglen.org.
The dates for the Adopt-A-Highway cleanups:
2016 Schedule
- CANCELLED: Friday, August 19th at 5:00 PM
- Saturday, October 8th at 9:00 AM

Would love to join/become part of your group! Can anyone join your monthly hikes? I’d also like to help with anything. Thanks so much, Regina
