Horseshoe Bottoms is a natural area located in West Peoria east of Rocky Glen Park.The land is owned by the Greater Peoria Sanitary District, the Peoria Park District and the Catholic Cemetery Association of Peoria. The Friends of Rocky Glen work to protect the majority of Horseshoe Bottoms for conservation and wildlife habitat by conducting monthly hikes and restoration workdays.

On the first Saturday of each month, Friends of Rocky Glen volunteers gather at Horseshoe Bottoms for a hike and a volunteer workday. These Saturday gatherings are a great opportunity for scouting and other groups to learn about this beautiful area of the Kickapoo Creek Watershed.
